Garnett Armitage, 81, of of Olympia, KY, passed away Saturday evening at St. Joseph Hospital in Mount Sterling, KY.
Born August 22, 1934 in Bath County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Eva McLain Armitage. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired surveyor, former driver for Bath Medical Transport, member of the Mudlick Church Of God, Olympian Springs Volunteer Fire Department and was a well known avid area sports fan.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Swartz Armitage, 1 daughter, Lamone Armitage of Mt. Sterling, 1 son, Juan Armitage and his wife Vicky of Olympia, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, dear friends Steve Becraft, Earl Norris, Zane Alexander and Eugene Sparks, his church family and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Della Armitage and 3 brothers, Eugene Armitage, Calvin Armitage and Jack Armitage.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday June 7 at 1:00 PM at the Mudlick Church Of God with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Stull Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday June 6 at the Mudlick Church Of God.
