          James Owen Hornback, 81, of 5358 East Highway 60, Owingsville, KY, passed away Tuesday February 23, 2016 at Saint Joseph Hospital, Mount Sterling, KY.

          Born June 15, 1934 in Bath County, he was the son of the late J.W. and Frankie Riddle Hornback. He was a U.S. Navy Air Corp veteran and was a retired employee of Hobart/Whirlpool Manufacturing in Mount Sterling, KY.

          Survivors include 2 granddaughters, Queena Anderson of Owingsville, KY, Heather Gillespie of Salt Lick, KY, 1 grandson, Tony Sorrell of Preston, KY, 5 nieces, Kimberly McNabb, Tracy McNabb, Terri Lynn Vance, Cathy Vance and Alice Donathon, 7 nephews, Kevin McNabb, Neal Vance, Jackie Hornback, Michael R. Hornback, William L. Hornback, Roger D. Hornback and Darren Campbell, a very special friend, Mayme Crump of Owingsville, KY and her daughters, Peggy Martin and Betty Bussell, 2 sisters in law, Linda Hornback and Peggy McNabb and 1 brother in law, Bobby Vance.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Vance Hornback, 1 son, Rodney Riddle, 2 brothers, Jack and Walter Hornback and 1 brother in law, Bruce Vance.

          Funeral services will be conducted Friday February 26, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Willard Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Owingsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
