Mrs. Jewell Laverne Dickerson McKenzie, 88, of Salt Lick, KY, widow of the late W.E. “Bill” McKenzie, passed away Saturday morning October 29, 2016 at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Owingsville, KY.

          Born April 21, 1928 at Salt Lick, KY, she was the daughter of the late Herndon and Edna Pearl Rice Dickerson. She was a homemaker and attended the Lakeview Community Church.

          Survivors include a daughter, Janice Carol Littleton of Flemingsburg, KY, a son, Michael Lee McKenzie (Diane) of Salt Lick, KY, 3 grandchildren, Ryan Colt McKenzie (Ashton), Jenna Wade Wallingford (Matthew) and Ty Littleton (Shannon Hamilton), 4 great-grandchildren, Kenzie Gulley, Karoline Wallingford and Knox Reed and Finn Jackson McKenzie, 2 sisters, Peggy Lou Jones of Mt. Sterling, KY and Carolyn Sue Alexander (Zane) of Salt Lick, KY.

          Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday November 2 at Lakeview Community Church with Pastor Eddie Dennison and Pastor James Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday November 1 at the church. Powell Funeral Home is caring for arrangements.

         Serving as pallbearers will be Colt McKenzie, Ty Littleton, Rick Omohundro, Roy Allen Wright, Wayne Johnson, Matthew Wallingford, Kyle Crouch and Doug McKenzie.

          In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Lakeview Community Church – Building Fund, 581 Cave Run Lake Road, Salt Lick, KY 40371.
