Joseph Franklin “Dopey” Cooper, 72, of Poplar Plains, KY passed away Sunday September 25, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY after an extended illness.
Born May 16, 1944 at Poplar Plains, KY, he was the son of the late Enos L. and Nettie Honea Cooper. He was a retired employee of A & L Mobile Homes in Flemingsburg and was a member of Fleming Lodge #112 F.&A.M.
Survivors include 3 sisters, Joyce Fischer of Cold Springs, KY, Nancy Powell of Flemingsburg, KY and Laura Denton of Flemingsburg, KY, 2 sisters in law, Debbie Cooper and Linda Cooper both of Poplar Plains, KY and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Glenn Cooper, Warner “Eggie” Cooper and Lawton Cooper, a sister in law, Rhoda Cooper and brothers in law, Jim Denton, Bob Powell and Howard Fischer.
Graveside memorial service will be conducted Friday September 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Hillsboro Cemetery with Rev. Norman Wasson officiating. There will be no visitation. Powell Funeral Home will be caring for arrangements.
