Margaret “Sissy” Armitage, 77, of Olympia, passed away Tuesday August 16, 2017.

          Born January 8, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Roosevelt and Grace Shultz Swartz and was the widow of the late Garnett Armitage. She was a retired employee of Jockey Mfg. in Mt. Sterling, former employee of Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Owingsville and was a member of the Mudlick First Church Of God.

          Survivors include her daughter, Lamone Armitage of Olympia, a son, Juan Armitage and his wife Vicky of Olympia, 4 brothers, Roosevelt Swartz, Jr. of Olympia, Eugene Swartz of Olympia, Sam Swartz of Frenchburg and Carol Swartz of Louisville, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be conducted Saturday August 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Mudlick First Church Of God with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Stull Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday August 18 at the church. Powell Funeral Home is caring for arrangements.
