Monroe Pergram, 86, of Denton Dr., Owingsville, KY, and formerly of Bypass Rd. Salt Lick, KY, passed away to be with his Lord Sunday evening December 13, 2015 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY.

          Born at Salt Lick, KY July 7, 1929 the son of the late William and EmmaLean Conn Pergram and was known as Junior and Cobb Pergram. He was a Christian and a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a former employee of Greer Lumber, a taxi driver in Morehead, KY and a former employee of A.O. Smith in Mt. Sterling, KY.

          Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Barbara Pergram, 1 daughter, Whitney Kay Pergram of South Carolina, 1 son, Brent Monroe Pergram of Owingsville, KY, 1 sister, Nancy Blevins of Frenchburg, KY, 2 sons and 1 daughter from his first marriage, James Roy Pergram, Edward Pergram and Mary Hardin, 1 granddaughter, Savannah Lamb and special grandson, Bradley Gose whom he raised and loved very much. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Leona Wilson and Myrtle Zepeda, 2 infants from his first marriage, Thomas Earl Pergram and Deloris Jean Pergram and 2 sons with his current wife, Tony “Smiley” Pergram and Rex Pergram.

          Funeral services will be conducted Thursday December 17 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery with graveside military honors performed by Morehead American Legion Post #126. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
