Coleman Taylor “Pete” Purvis, Jr., 87, of 814 McCullough Hollow Rd., Salt Lick, KY, passed away Sunday October 22, 2017 at his residence.
Born April 10, 1930 at Sharpsburg, KY the son of the late Coleman, Sr. and Jane Grey Purvis. He was a retired janitor and school bus driver with the Bath County School System and was a member of the Mudlick First Church Of God.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Effie Jane Arnett and husband Kenny of Flemingsburg, KY and Patty Terrell and husband Mitch of Clearfield, KY, 2 sons, Bob Purvis and wife Betty and Russell Purvis and wife Stephanie, all of Salt Lick, 2 stepdaughters, Dena Thomas and husband Ronnie of Salt Lick and Jessica Doyle and husband Matt of Flemingsburg, KY, 3 sisters, Geraldine Hendrix and husband Bill of Indiana, Roxie Stephens of Mount Sterling, KY and Betty Skinner of Winchester, KY, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 2 step-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Dickerson, a granddaughter, Jessica Black, 6 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday October 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Mudlick First Church Of God with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Polksville Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Mudlick First Church Of God.
