Mrs. Olivia Fanning Becraft Stephens, 81, of South Daytona, FL, passed away Saturday November 9, 2019 at her home.
Born August 17, 1938 at Salt Lick, KY a daughter of the late Hubert and Ella Satterfield Fanning.
Mrs. Stephens was the mother of 5 children, but touched the lives of hundreds of children as a kindergarten teacher in her hometown of Salt Lick, KY. She retired from teaching in 1998 and moved to Florida where she enjoyed life, dancing and her friendships. She was a past member of the Lions Club, Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and Fraternal Order Of Eagles, and was a frequent cast member of the Kopy Kats Performance Troupe.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husbands, Cardwell Becraft and Ernie Stephens, a brother Edward Fanning, a sister, Betty Caulkins and grandparents, Aaron and Mayme Colliver Fanning and John and Olivia Hanks Satterfield, a son-in-law, Ralph Charles, Sr. and family friend, Gary Thorp.
Survivors include 2 sons, Steve Becraft and his wife Joan of Olympia, KY and Brad Becraft and his wife Gail of Carrolton, KY, 3 daughters, Betty Charles of Frenchburg, KY, Sandy Barrier and her husband Steve of North Daytona, FL and Bridgette Becraft of Olympia, KY, 1 brother, Joseph Fanning and wife Barbara of Mount Sterling, KY, a special friend, Butch Horton of South Daytona, FL, a sister in law, Margaret Fanning of Dayton, OH, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday November 17, 2019 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home, Salt Lick, KY with a Celebration Of Life Service following at 4:00 PM.
A private family graveside committal service will be held in Polksville Cemetery at a later date.
