Alva Louise Williams Bernard, 80, of 1932 Cave Run Lake Road, Salt Lick, passed away Sunday February 21 at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Bernard was born September 25, 1929 in Bath County, the daughter of the late James K. and Flossie Rice Williams. She was a former dental assistant.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Teresa Karrick Hinton and her husband Rick, of Burlington, KY and Lee Ann Bernard Stein and her husband Porter, of Noblesville, IN, 4 sons, Doug McKenzie of Lexington, Ronnie McKenzie and his wife Merry, of Daytona Beach, FL, Alan Bernard and his wife Joan, of Sylvania, OH and John Bernard and his wife Gina, of Nicholasville, KY, 1 sister, Betty York of Owingsville, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a special friend, Coit Frasure of Milford, OH.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday February 25, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Community Church with Rev. James Allen officiating and grandsons serving as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Jones Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday at Lakeview Community Church. Powell Funeral Home will be caring for arrangements.
