Anna Ruth (Johnson) Poe

          Anna Ruth Johnson Poe, 84, of 229 Mitchell Street, Mount Sterling, KY, passed away Monday evening August 5, 2019 at University Of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

          Born at Salt Lick, KY on February 17, 1935 the daughter of the late Walter and Abigail Townsend Johnson. She was a homemaker and attended Grace Fellowship Tabernacle in Mount Sterling, KY and was the widow of the late James D. Poe.

          Survivors include 4 daughters, Teresa Johnson, Charlene Johnson, Sheila Nealis and Angela Johnson, 1 son, Walter Johnson, 1 sister, Della Mae Groves, 1 brother, James A. Johnson, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, special family members Sandra Hardin, John and Wanda Copher and several nieces and nephews.

          In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 children, Carl Wayne and Mary Anita Johnson, 1 sister, Judith Ramey and 1 brother, John Walter Johnson.

          Funeral services will be conducted Friday August 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Peggy Harvard officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday August 8, 2019 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
