Bennie Harold Wages, 75, of 372 Old River Road, Salt Lick, KY, passed on to be with the Lord Tuesday February 3, 2015 at Ridgeway Nursing And Rehabilitation Facility in Owingsville, KY.
Born October 24, 1939 at Salt Lick, KY, he was the son of the late Hobert and Mattie Sorrell Wages. He was a retired employee of Morehead State University, a U.S. Army veteran, member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Phelps Lodge #482 F&AM, El Hasa Shrine and attended the Midland First Church Of God. He was also a supporter of St. Judes Children's Hospital and an avid Kentucky Wildcats Fan.
Survivors include a sister, Gloria Dyer of Kentland, IN, a brother, Wayne Wages and wife Wanda of Ocala, FL, several nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Wilma Butler who became a friend to him thru his illness.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Todd Wages, a sister Barbara Roberts and 3 brothers, Marvin, Vernon and Manuel Wages.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday February 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Midland First Church of God with Pastor Bush Stevenson and Pastor Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery with graveside military honors provided by the Morehead American Legion Post #126. Visitation will be Friday February 6, 2015 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. at the church.
