Bethel Jane Highley Greene, 83, of Fayetteville, OH and formerly of Salt Lick, passed away Monday September 13, 2010 at Hospice Cincinnati East.
Born April 9, 1927 at Switzer, West Virginia the daughter of the late Benjamin and Manie Moore Highley, Mrs. Greene was the widow of the late Earle Lewis Greene who passed away in 1994 and was a retired seamstress with Fechheimers of Cincinnati, OH.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Kathryn Greene of Fayetteville, OH, 4 sons, Earle Greene, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Charles Greene of Batavia, OH, Marvin Greene of West Union, OH and Kevin Greene of Fayetteville, OH, 4 sisters, Roma Lee Armitage of Birmingham, AL, Joanne Ramey of Mt. Sterling, Lillian Barnes of Lexington, KY and Judy Hunt of Olympia, KY, 3 brothers, Buck Highley of Williamsburg, OH, Sidney Highley of Morehead, KY and Dee Highley of Sudith, KY, 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Patrick.
Funeral services for Mrs. Greene will be conducted Saturday September 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Powell Funeral Home with Rev. James Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Polksville Cemetery in Salt Lick. Visitation will be from 6 – 9 PM Friday September 17, 2010 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested, in Mrs. Greene's memory, to Hospice Of Cincinnati, 7691 Five Mile Road, Suite 100, Cincinnati, OH 45230.
A gathering of family and friends will be held, immediately following the funeral services, at the Frenchburg/Clark Energy Community Center, 28 Bible Camp Lane, Frenchburg, KY 40233
