Dale Bruce Darrell, 81, of 1309 Black Sulphur Rd., Salt Lick, passed away Wednesday September 1, 2010 at his residence.
Born February 13, 1929, he was the son of the late Horton and Grace Hunt Darrell. He was a self employed construction equipment operator, a Korean War Air Force veteran, a Mason and a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Triplett Darrell, a son, Dwayne Darrell of Dayton, OH, a step-daughter, Linda Donahue of Salt Lick, 2 sisters, Dorothy Reeves of Salt Lick and Pauline Ratliff of Franklin, OH, mother-in-law and special care giver, Carolyn Triplett of Owingsville, 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dexter Crouch in 2009 and a brother, Joseph Darrell in 2010.
Services will be conducted Sunday September 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Meadows and Bro. David Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Dickerson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 9 PM Saturday September 4 at the funeral home with Masonic rites to be conducted at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Shriners Hospitals For Children.
