Darvin Crouch Obituary

Darvin Wayne Crouch, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully Tuesday January 14, 2025 at UK-St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY, after a long illness at the age 70 years, 9 months and 5 days. He was born April 9, 1954 at Frenchburg, KY.

Darvin was known for his tough, resilient spirit and larger than life personality. A man who lived for a good time, a hearty laugh and the company of friends and family. He was as tough as a pine knot, yet had a heart full of kindness and love for those around him. Darvin grew up in Salt Lick, where he formed lifelong friendships and lived life by his own rules. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and his stories, often punctuated with his own signature laughter, will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Whether drinking, fishing, hunting or simply enjoying a meal,,,,,often one that most wouldn’t dare try, Darvin embraced life’s challenges with a sense of humor and a willingness to eat almost any type of critter, at least once.

Darvin’s family was his greatest pride. He leaves behind his three loving sons: Jason (Lisa) Crouch, Darvin Andrew (Makayla) Crouch and Jesse Shane (Sarah) Crouch and his beloved daughter, Ashley Nicole Crouch. He was a proud grandfather to Kaylee, Madison, Lindsey, Mason, Peyton, Ayden, Erica, Davin, Brody, Bella, Izaiah and Sawyer. And great-grandfather to Odin, Ellis, Jupiter, Tuesday, Quill, Hagen, Keiran, Sebastian, Tristan and Koa. Also surviving is his brother, Lenny (Donna) Crouch and his sisters Roma Gabbard, Ora Lee Adkins and Debbie (Ralph) Crouch, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is also survived by his estranged wife of more than 20 years, Joyce Crouch. While their paths had long since parted, the bonds of family and shared history remained an integral part of his life.

Preceding him in death were his parents: James Estill “Eck” Crouch and Elsie Wright Crouch, 2 brothers: Ronnie Crouch and Darrell Crouch and a sister: Marietta Crouch Withrow.

Darvin’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love and cherished memories.
