Dorothy Sue Burton

          Dorothy Sue Burton, 72, of Morehead, KY, passed away Saturday May 23, 2020 at St. Claire Healthcare, Morehead, KY.

          Born in Rowan County, KY April 14, 1948 and was the daughter of  the late Minnie Adkins Christian and Hazel Christian.

          She lived in Springfield, OH for much of her life where worked as a machinist and raised her sons. She returned to Kentucky after retiring to spend time with her family who live in Morehead.

          She loved listening to old country music, thrift store shopping, yard sales and family get togethers always made her happy. Family was everything to her.

          She also enjoyed crafting in her later years, making holiday decorations that will be cherished memories forever.

          She loved her family dearly, and we loved her, she will be missed. We lost a wonderful woman, but Heaven gained another Beautiful Angel.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Burton, a brother, Nickie Burton an infant brother, Paul E. Burton, a brother in law, Wayne McKinniss, and a nephew, Tony McKinniss.

          Survivors include 2 sons, Jamie Pernell and his wife Tami of Urbana, OH and Richie Pernell and his wife Karen of Springfield, OH, 6 grandchildren, Justin Pernell, Jordan (Samantha) Pernell, Aaron (Dani) Pernell, Ashley Pernell, Angela (Jacob) Pernell and Amber (Caleb) Norton, all of Ohio, 3 sisters, Geraldine McKinniss, Betty (David) Mason and Carol (Mickie) Sloan, all of Morehead, 1 brother, Bobby Burton of Galion, OH and several nieces and nephews that she adored with all her heart.

          A memorial service will be held at a later date at the families convenience.

          Powell Funeral Home, Salt Lick, KY is assisting the family with arrangements.
