Elmer C. Johnson, 84, of 85 Bypass Road, Salt Lick, passed away Wednesday January 26, 2011 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.
Born August 13, 1926 at Middletown, OH, the son of the late John and Lola Armitage Johnson, he was a former U.S. Forestry Service employee and a WWII Army veteran.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Audrey Ferrell of Preston, Carolyn Johnson of Salt Lick and Clara Sue Smith of Preston, 2 sons, William "Buzz" Johnson and Lyndon Johnson both of Salt Lick, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a special nephew, Glen Crouch of Salt Lick.
Preceding him in death was one son, Johnny Johnson in 1986.
Services will be conducted Saturday January 29, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home in Salt Lick with Bro. Randall Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Crouch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Friday January 28 at the funeral home. Military grave-side honors will be preformed by the Bath County V.F.W. Post #7497.
