Geraldine (Crouch) Sweeney

          Geraldine Crouch Sweeney, 70, of Pine Grove Road, Olympia, KY, passed away Sunday morning June 4, 2023 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY.

          Born September 12, 1952 at Olympia Springs, KY, she was a daughter of the late James Burley and Effie Pearl Craig Crouch. She was a retired employee of Jockey International and was an employee of the Bath County School System. She was a member of the Mudlick First Church Of God and was an avid supporter of  the Bath County Wildcats and youth league sports.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Sweeney, a sister: Mildred Faye Crouch McNabb and brothers: James D. Crouch and Vernon Emerson “Bun” Crouch.

          Survivors include her daughter: Carla Messer and her husband Allen of Olympia, KY, her grandchildren: Caden Messer (Alyssa), Kylen Messer ( Logan McKenzie) and Braylen Messer, sisters: Dorothy Roberson of Frenchburg, KY and Helen McNabb (Curt) of Olympia, KY, brothers: Marvin Crouch (Sheila) of Olympia, KY and Shirley Crouch (Judy) of Owingsville, KY. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

          Visitation will be held Tuesday June 6, 2023 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Mudlick First Church Of God.

          Funeral services will be Wednesday June 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Mudlick First Church Of God with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating.

          Interment will follow the funeral service in Upper Salt Lick Cemetery.

          Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
