Harley A. McFarland, 92, of 402 Moores Ferry Road, Salt Lick, KY, passed away Monday December 1, 2014.
Born June 8, 1922 in Lee County, KY the son of the late Everett and Bessie Donathan McFarland. He was a World War II Army veteran, retired employee of A.O. Smith Corp and enjoyed collecting and selling fishing lures.
Survivors include his wife Aline Lyons McFarland, 1 step-daughter, Yvonne Triplett of Salt Lick, KY, 1 step-grandson, Brooks Triplett and his wife Holly of Salt Lick, KY and 2 step-great granddaughters, Abby and Alaina Triplett of Salt Lick, KY, 1 sister, Gertrude Bell and her husband Tom of New Castle, IN and special care-giver, Peggy Jackson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nelia Williams McFarland, 3 sisters, Viola Williams, Dorothy Million and Edna McFarland and 2 brothers, Elbert McFarland and Mort McFarland.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday December 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home in Salt Lick, with Rev. Willard Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Bath County Memorial Gardens, where grave-side Military Honors will be conducted by the Morehead American Legion post #126. Visitation will be Wednesday December 3, 2014 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
