Herbert Joe Netherly, 81, of 241 Hardin Road, Salt Lick, KY, passed away Saturday February 16, 2013 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY.
Born October 1, 1931 at Morehead, KY, he was the son of the late Frank and Deloris Cooper Netherly and was a farmer, carpenter, former bus driver for Rowan County Schools and former employee of Rowan County Water.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Netherly, 2 daughters, Janet Egan and her husband Steve of Hillsboro, KY and Georgetta Sorrell and her husband Kenny of Salt Lick, KY, 1 son, Joe Eugene Netherly of Flemingsburg, KY, 3 step-daughters, Cathy McIntosh and Phyllis Charles both of Salt Lick, KY and Joyce Crouch of Owingsville, 2 step-sons, Bobby Hardin and Shane Hardin both of Salt Lick, KY, 6 sisters, Virginia Hayes of Delano, TN, Betty Ferguson of Joplin, MO, Helen Mathis of Lebanon, OH, Edna Kline of Carrboro, NC, Gladys Johnson of Windfield, WV and Donna Wells of Lebanon, OH, 3 brothers, Sam Netherly of Lebanon, TN, Bobby Netherly of Hillsboro, KY and Noah "Corky" Netherly of Independence, KY, 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 12 step-grandchildren and 21 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were 1 sister, May Ferguson, 4 brothers, Frank Netherly, Jr., Lee (Dickie) Netherly, Paul Netherly and Keith Wayne Netherly and 1 grandson, Steven Benjamin Egan.
Funeral services will be Wednesday February 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Bush Stevenson officiating. Interment will follow at Dickerson Cemetery, Salt Lick, KY. Visitation will be held Tuesday February 19, 2013 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
