James Brooks Brown

          James “Jimmy” Brooks Brown, 71, of Salt Lick, KY, passed away Saturday morning May 25, 2024 at his residence.

          Born October 16, 1952, he was a son of the late Robert and Dorothy Ann Brown. He was of the Christian faith and was an employee of Nestles Foods in Mount Sterling, KY.

          Survivors include his wife, Lottie Purvis Brown, a son, James Brooks Brown, Jr., 3 daughters, Carol Ann Wheland, Tammy Manley and Regina Marie Hardin, siblings, Regina Tapp, Minnie Alsap, Orville Lee Brown and Ellen Brown and special friends Nathan Young and Robin Reffitt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Jo Brown a step son, Thomas Withrow, a step daughter, Tina Withrow, 1 sister, Pamela Brown and 1 brother Larry Brown.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday May 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home, Salt Lick, KY with Rev. Jackie Anderson Officiating. Burial will follow in Purvis Cemetery, Owingsville, KY.  Visitation will be Monday evening May 27, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers: Nathan Allen Young, Randall Brown, Tyler Wright, Robin Reffitt, Taylor Wright and Bruce Bowman.
