James May

          James A. May, 62, of 6495 East Highway 60, Salt Lick, KY, passed away Tuesday June 16, 2026 at St. Joseph Hospital, Mount Sterling, KY.

          Born August 14, 1963 at Williamson, West Virginia, he was a Marine Corp veteran, former coal miner and telecommunications technician.

          Survivors include his spouse, Theresa Ann Hatfield, 2 sons: James Michael May and his wife Brittany and Matthew John May and his wife Audrionnia, his mother: Logene McHale, his step-mother: Christy May, 1 brother: William Jeffrey May, 2 half sisters: Peggy May and Kitty Rapier Runner, 3 half brothers: Bud Michael May, Robert May and Michael McHale, II, 4 grandchildren: Chloe Nicole Munday, Kayden May, Colton Michael May and Matthew Harley May, and his former wife Tomi Vannoy. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Kayla Gene May in 2021 and his father: Bud May.

          Visitation will be Saturday June 20, 2026 at Powell Funeral Home, Salt Lick, KY from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM with funeral services immediately following at 4:00 PM with Pastor Andy Lands officiating.
