Janice (Snedegar) Shrout

          Mrs. Janice Carol Snedegar Shrout, 86, of Moore’s Ferry Road, Salt Lick, KY, passed away Thursday August 25, 2022 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY.

          Born in Bath County December 23, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Buford and Neva Goodpaster Snedegar.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Rexford Shrout and 2 sons, Randall K. Shrout and David L. Shrout.

          Janice was a longtime member of the Moore’s Ferry Church Of Christ and was a former employee of Owingsville Elementary School and Hilltop Nursing Home. She loved to cook, travel, canning, taking care of her cats and spending time with her granddaughter Emma. She also enjoyed a good fish sandwich and her simple farm life.

          Survivors include a daughter: Marcia Stamm and her husband Jim, of Salt Lick, KY and a son, Joe Shrout of Salt Lick, KY, 2 brothers: J.B. Snedegar and Larry Barber and wife Marilyn, all of Owingsville, KY, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

          Visitation for Mrs. Shrout will be held from 2:00 PM Sunday August 28, 2022 until 4:00 PM at Moore’s Ferry Church Of Christ

          Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 PM Sunday at Moore’s Ferry Church Of Christ with Rev. Lowell Rice and Bro. John Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Hedrick Cemetery.
