John Paul "Buck" Highley, 90, of 6754 East Highway 60, Salt Lick, passed away Monday March 22, 2010 at Fleming County Hospital, after an extended illness.

Mr. Highley was born January 28, 1920 in Bath County the son of the late Wildie and Myrtle Sutton Highley. He was the widower of the late Alta Ford Highley and was a former merchant, pallet factory foreman and a member of the Salt Lick Christian Church.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Sally Arnold and her husband Ken of Flemingsburg, 1 granddaughter, Regina Krause and her husband Al of Maysville, 2 great-grandsons, James Randall and Jonathan Skaggs and 1 brother, Robert Earl Highley of Salt Lick.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday March 25 at 10:00 AM at Powell Funeral Home in Salt Lick with Rev. George Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Hedricks Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
