John Allen Wright, 88, of 11554 East Highway 60, Salt Lick, KY, passed away Monday July 29, 2013 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY.
Born July 8, 1925, he was the son of the late Clyde and Ida Mae Thompson Wright and the widower of the late Louise Wright. He was retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet as Chief District Engineer Of The Department Of Highways District #9 and was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran and was a member of the Salt Lick Christian Church.
Survivors include 1 son, Roy Cable Wright and his wife Pam of Owingsville, 2 grandchildren, Victoria Wright and Roy Cable Wright II both of Owingsville and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his wife and parents, were 3 sisters, Virg Alexander, Lillian Razor and Mary Wright and 1 brother, Billy Joe Wright.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday August 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Salt Lick Christian Church with Calvin Lindell officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery at Midland. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday August 1 at Powell Funeral Home in Salt Lick. Grave-side military honors will be conducted by the Morehead American Legion Post #126.
