Mrs. Lena Lucille Crouch Wills, 89, of Salt Lick, KY was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2022.
Born at Sudith, KY October 7, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Banks and Bessie Patrick Crouch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Heraldon “Moose” Wills, her infant sons, Heraldon Dean and Nathan Shawn Wills, 3 sisters and their spouses, Ruby and June Marlow, Mary Margaret and Delbert Reffitt and Eunice Crouch who died in infancy, 2 brothers and their spouces, Berthol and Dexter Crouch and Edry and Marjorie Crouch.
Survivors include her son, William “Bill” Wills and his wife Judy and her daughter, Rachelle Thompson and her husband Tim, 2 granddaughters, Amy Wills and Chynah Thompson, 2 grandsons, Mike and Blake Baber, special granddaughters, Melinda Ward, Kim Ward and Pam Hardin, a sister in law, Millie Kier and several nieces, nephews, church family and friends that she loved very much. She considered Dusty Reffitt as a second son, and Misty Copher was a best friend and prayer partner. She gladly “adopted” anyone who wanted to call her “Mom” or “Mamaw”. Finally, she leaves behind her little companion Daisy, who followed her every move she made.
After years of working as a CNA, CMA and EMT, Lena became a Licensed Practical Nurse at the age of 50. She was a graduate of the first practical nursing program offered in Morehead and scored in the top 10 percent of her state board exams. She then had a career in nursing at Life Care Center of Morehead, KY and Pathways Horizon Village until her health forced her to retire. She was a member of the Salt Lick First Church Of God where she was the pianist and held other leadership positions over the years. She especially loved teaching the adult class at Vacation Bible School every year. She has served and loved the Lord her entire life and loved nothing more than to sing for Him. Lena set the example for what it means to be a hard worker, a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a servant of God.
