Richie A. Maze, 60, of 4021 West Highway 36, Owingsville, passed away suddenly Wednesday September 1, 2010.
Born February 4, 1950 in Salt Lick, KY, the son of Flossie Warren Maze and the late James Edward Maze of Bath County, Richie was a retired pipe liner, licensed auctioneer, and a successful life-long farmer. He attended Morehead State University and served multiple enlistments with the Kentucky National Guard. Richie served the community as a member of a number of community organizations and as a member of the Polksville Church Of God.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his wife, Nancye Wells Maze, 2 God-sons, Andrew Maze and Jason Goodpaster, a God-daughter, Jessica Goodpaster Pedigo, a sister, Phyllis M. Roberts and her husband Enoch of Lexington, KY, 2 brothers, Jim Maze of Salt Lick, KY and Chester Maze and his wife Lori of Knoxville, TN, a sister in law, Marilyn Maze of Owingsville and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Maze.
A celebration of Richie's life will be held Saturday September 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Polksville Church Of God with Rev. Todd St. John officiating. Burial will follow in the Maze Cemetery at Polksville. Friends may call at the church after 5:00 PM Friday September 3 and after 9:30 AM until service time Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to The American Heart Association or the Polksville Church Of God.
