Rushia Conn Jewell, 96, of 396 Main Street, Salt Lick, passed away Wednesday March 31, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling after an extended illness.
Mrs. Jewell was born April 1, 1914 in Bath Co., the daughter of the late Levi and Martha Flannery Conn. She was a homemaker and Christian and was the widow of the late Ollie Allen Jewell.
Survivors include 5 daughters, Carolyn Fulton and her husband Danny of Salt Lick, Glenda Landsdale and her husband Clyde of San Antonio, TX, Delilah Jane Jewell of Salt Lick, Judy Jewell Burchett of Salt Lick and Connie Sue Smith and her husband Curt of Winchester, 4 sons, Billy Ray Jewell of Owingsville, Bobby Jewell and his wife Ella Frances of Salt Lick, Rodney Jewell and his wife Judy Sharon of Salt Lick and Douglas Jewell of Salt Lick, her long time care giver, Charlotte Link of Salt Lick, 1 sister, Jean Bashford of Morehead, 1 brother, Sidney Conn of Indiana, 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband and parents, were 2 sons, Wendell Jewell and Allen Jewell, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Services will be conducted Saturday April 3, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Powell Funeral Home in Salt Lick with Jessie Layne Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Polksville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
