Mrs. Ruth Johnson Staton, 92, of 420 Spring Street, Mt. Sterling, KY passed away Tuesday January 10, 2012 at Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling, KY.
Mrs. Staton born August 2, 1919 at Salt Lick, KY the daughter of the late Arthur Dillard and Frances Gertrude Robbins Johnson. She was a former employee of J.C. Penney and R.H. Hobbs Departments Stores and was a member of the Spring Street Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband Elmer Wesley Staton in 1976.
Survivors include 3 sons, John Barry Staton of Owingsville, KY, E. Wesley Staton of Owingsville, KY and William Arthur Staton, Sr. of Patsy, KY, 3 brothers, Nikola Tesla Johnson of Dayton, OH, Laban F. Johnson of Camden, OH and Arthur D. Johnson, Jr. of Mt. Sterling, KY, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday January 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Spring Street Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, KY with Rev. John Runyon officiating. Interment will follow in Dickerson Cemetery at Salt Lick, KY. Visitation will be held Friday January 13, 2012 at 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Powell Funeral Home of Salt Lick, KY.
