Virgil R. Montgomery, Sr., 73, of St. Charles, IL, passed away Sunday February 21, 2010.

Mr. Montgomery was born July 19, 1936 in Staunton, VA, the son of the late Frank and Ollie Sellers Montgomery. He was retired as Director Of Maintenance with Ruan Transportation in November 2000 after 40 years, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, member of the Valparaiso, IN VFW, a deacon with Heritage Presbyterian Church and a drag race enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Marsha Wills Montgomery, 1 daughter, Tamara R. Montgomery of Valparaiso, IN, 3 sons, Virgil Montgomery, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Valparaiso, IN, Mark Montgomery and his wife Patricia of Carol Stream, IL and John Montgomery and his wife Dustina of South Elgin, IL, 5 grandsons, Benjamin (Joni) Lomas of Hawaii, Adam Lomas of Florida, Kevin Lomas and Nicholas Montgomery of Valparaiso, IN and Jesse Montgomery of Carol Stream, IL, 6 granddaughters, Erica Montgomery of Bloomington, IN, Madison Montgomery of Valparaiso, IN, Ryann Lomas of South Bend, IN, Peyton Montgomery of Carol Stream, IL and Sydney and Morgan Montgomery of South Elgin, IL, 1 great-granddaughter, Aria Lomas of Hawaii, 1 sister, Jane (Kenneth) Kibble of Valparaiso, IN and many other friends and family members.

Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents and a sister, Faye Siemion.

Services will be conducted Saturday February 27, 2010 at 6:00 PM at Brust Funeral Home in Carol Stream, IL with visitation from 2:00 PM until service time on Saturday.

Local visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday March 1 at Powell Funeral Home with committal service following at Wills Cemetery in Salt Lick.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. W., Suite 800, Washington, DC, 2004.
