Ralph Denver Charles, Sr., 62, of Frenchburg, KY, passed away Friday February 26, 2016 at Saint Joseph Hospital, Mt. Sterling, KY.

          Born December 9, 1953 at Salt Lick, KY, he was the son of the late Rupert and Belie Stiddom Charles. He was employed at Thompson Transportation Services of Mt. Sterling, KY.

          Survivors include his wife, Betty Becraft Charles, 1 daughter, Sandra Lynn Charles of Lancaster, KY, 3 sons, Terry W. Charles of Madison, IN, Ralph D. Charles, Jr. (Becca) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Joseph C. Charles (Lana) of Mt. Sterling, KY, 1 sister, Delora Jones of Mt. Sterling, KY, 5 brothers, Charlie Charles (Mildred) of Salt Lick, KY, Bill Charles (Jennette) of Owingsville, KY, Harley Charles (Nancy) of Mt. Sterling, KY, Rudy Charles (Frieda) of Hindman, KY and Tony Charles (Pam) of Salt Lick, KY, 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Thomas East and a sister, Dorothy Proffitt.

          Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday March 1, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Polksville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday February 29, 2016 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Justin Charles, Cameron Charles, Charlie Charles, Jr., Timmy Charles, David Charles and Stacy Charles. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Thompson, Skip Ferrell, Randy Lyons, Bryce Charles, Max Matthews, Tommy Rector, Robbie East and W.F. Adkins.
